Food Serviceware: Product Developments to Zero Waste Models
Translation of Desired Improvements to Paper Cups into Extrusion Coating Polymer Design
Improving upon the ubiquitous paper cup has been a multi-decade journey undertaken by the entire supply chain --raw material producers to food serviceware providers. Many at ITR have contributed to the market presence and growth in share of biobased and compostable paper cups extrusion coated with an Ingeo based lining. This paper focuses on translating the market requirements for a better paper cup into the polymer design of the extrusion coating resin, with Ingeo 1102 as demonstration of an improved design for cups and bowls.
